We are seeking for someone with expertise and practice in archaeological material science, particularly in how technological processes and change are elucidated using material characterisation and/or imaging to address significant archaeological questions. There is scope for those with specialisms in the technological or functional investigation of a range of materials including ceramics, metals, vitreous materials, bone, ivory, textiles and other organic resources/residues.

The post holder will develop innovative projects aligned with the Research Challenges identified by the British Museum and facilitate expertise exchange between colleagues in the Department of Archaeology and the British Museum. The post includes £10k per annum research costs and travel expenses between Reading and the BM.
You will have:
   » A PhD in an area of archaeological material science
   » A track record of publications commensurate with your career stage
   » A readiness to travel regularly between Reading and London
