Are you looking for a new and fulfilling function that makes a difference?
Are you looking for a function that allows you to work your own hours?
I am currently working with four of the leading universities in the universities in the Liverpool and currently supporting over 600 students with disabilities who require one to one support with their higher education; working with clients such as Liverpool John Moores, Liverpool Hope and University of Liverpool.
We are seeking for Support Workers to attend lectures/other classes at Universities across Liverpool, and take notes on behalf of students who are unable to do so due to a discapability, including physical impairment, health condition or a specific learning difficulty. Support Workers may also be required to provide One-to-One Assistance and general help around the University / Library facilities.
Commencing: September 2019 (part-time/flexible hours)
Pay rate: £8.50/hour
Personal Attributes:
Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with student(s)
Must be able to organise and manage fluctuating workloads
Flexibility to meet the needs of the student
Punctual, timely and reliable
Understands the impacts of living with a discapability
Commit to working with a student for a full academic year
Responsibilities:
To produce an accurate and legible handwritten record of lectures, seminars and discussions in the student's preferred format
Provide One-to-One assistance and Library support
To act in the best interests of students at all times whilst also working within the policies and procedures of the Universities
To ensure student confidentiality, professionalism and respect is maintained at all times
To follow agreed recording and reporting system in a timely manner
General Requirements:
Educated to degree level or studying towards a degree
Have neat handwriting and be able to present notes in a legible and presentable manner
Accurate spelling and grammar
Excellent organisation and communication expertise
Punctual and reliable
You will need to be able to work quickly and under time restrictions
practice of working with disabled individuals is desirable
Have consciousness of Safeguarding and be appropriate to work with learners 16+
