Corpus Christi College has an exciting opportunity for a talented, enthusiastic and practiced Head of Gardens and Grounds. This hands-on function will lead a dedicated team in working towards the objectives for the gardens, lawns sports ground, prairie garden and the Master's Lodge garden.
The prosperous candidate will have a passion for gardening, gardens and grounds; they will be responsible for the general maintenance and development of College areas with a view to creating an enjoyable practice for Fellows, students, staff, guests and visitors.
candidates will ideally hold a horticultural qualification and are likely to have practice of working in Colleges, private estate gardens or public gardens. Candidates must be confident in the use of garden machinery and with their expertise of plants, having an capability to work to high standards at all times.
Responsibilities of the prosperous applicant will include lawn care, planting and pruning, development and maintenance of areas, a prairie meadow, sports grounds, basic maintenance of equipment and working with budgets.
candidates must have a flexible and adaptable approach to work with the capability to plan and multi-task. It is important to have a confident, clear and communicative style and be able to interact and contribute effectively to the Committees you attend and with Fellows, Students, other Heads of Departments, Staff and visitors.
The position will be full-time, working 37.5 hours and occasional weekend/out of hours work will be required.
