The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Forensic Psychology to join the expanding team of academic staff in the Psychology Department. You will be joining an ambitious Psychology Department that has seen significant growth in staffing, undergraduate, taught post graduate, PhD students and facilities in recent years. Our research portfolio is expanding with a highly prosperous Centre for Research into Forensic and Investigative Psychology alongside research groups working in the areas of Childhood and Youth Psychology, Social Psychology, Healthy Lives, the Psychology of the Workplace and Organisations, and Brain and Cognition.
The Department has just undergone a major refurbishment and we have a range of specialist laboratory facilities including observation labs with both camera systems and one way mirrors, EEG and neuro-stimulation facilities, a Virtual Reality laboratory, and an alcohol research laboratory, as well as a full range of standard experimental laboratories appropriate for a wide variety of psychological research.
The Psychology Department currently offers an established portfolio of British Psychological Society accredited undergraduate programmes and an MSc in Forensic Psychology. The post holder will contribute to the Psychology Department's MSc Forensic Psychology programme, as well as research and expertise exchange activities within our Centre for Forensic and Investigative Psychology.
The prosperous candidate will be either a Chartered psychologist holding full membership of the Division of Forensic Psychology, or otherwise appropriately qualified (or soon to be qualified) and practiced (for example, registered with the Health and Care Professions Council or eligible for Chartered psychologist status and full membership of the Division of Forensic Psychology).
