Job Purpose
As a key member of the School leadership abilities team and in partnership with Head of School play a lead function in the development and prosperous implementation of the School's strategic objectives aligned to delivery of the University/College strategic ambition.
Responsible for leadership abilities of the School professional services team in the provision of support services for student learning and teaching, research, operational and external/corporate engagement.
As a key member of the College professional services leadership abilities team inform the future shape of the School's professional services provision in line with the College/University's strategic direction. Lead and contribute on behalf of the College to the university-wide change programme.
The function reports directly to the Director of College Professional Services with day-to-day responsibility to the Head of School.
Main tasks and Responsibilities
   » Work in partnership with the Head of School and School Executive Team to develop the School strategy in line with the College and University's strategic objectives. Contribute to the development and implementation of those strategic plans to prosperously deliver School KPI s and targets including NSS, research performance and return on investment.
   » As an accomplished professional partner provide executive support to the Head of School across several areas. (e.g. risk register management)
   » Effectively lead the professional service provision delivery to ensure the School is fully supported in managing its operational priorities.
   » As a member of the executive team contribute towards the financial planning process for the School.
   » As part of the School's strategic ambition contribute to the development of performance sustaincapability plans through horizon scanning and competitor bench-marking.
   » Develop, with senior academic colleagues, external engagement opportunities including partnerships and networks to enhance reputation at local, national and international levels.
   » Lead and prosperously implement within the School/College change management programmes in line with the University and College strategic deliverables aligned with improving the practice for students and staff.
   » Ensure effective compliance on behalf of the School with University's governance framework sourcing appropriate support from specialist/professional colleagues as required.
   » In partnership with senior colleagues develop a robust framework to support compliance with significant accreditation bodies and quality assurance processes.
   » Working in partnership with senior academic colleagues to optimise resources and their impact to deliver improvement in KPI and league tables performance.
Standard Terms & Conditions
income will be on the Management, Professional and Administrative Grade, level 8, £44,045 - £51,034 per annum.
This post is full time and open ended.
New entrants to the University will be required to serve a probationary period of 6 months.
