We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated full time band 6 Occupational Therapist to work within our low secure forensic service on a permanent contract.
The prosperous candidate would be located on Woodlands House, a 20-bed male unit in Aylesbury, working with individuals detained under the Mental Health Act. Within the function you would be responsible for managing a defined case load, planning and facilitating groups and working with individuals both on the wards as well as in the community. You would work alongside a Band 5 OT, a Health and Fitness Instructor, and be supported in your function by the Band 7 Clinical Lead OT.
The forensic OT service is highly regarded and supported by a full multidisciplinary team. Our practice is underpinned by the Model of Human Occupation, Vona DuToit Model of Creative capability and recovery approach. Basic expertise of the VdT MoCA would be useful, though not essential as we are committed to providing training in this model for use in practice. We have a clear assessment pathway to guide our work. The OT service supports and encourages frequent CPD activities including regular assessment meetings, Band 6 support groups and away days.
The post includes an additional Forensic Lead payment of £1,446.00 per annum/pro rata. The post holder will receive regular clinical and managerial supervision with access to regular reflective practice with the MDT and opportunities to engage in special interest groups.
