We have a great opportunity for a Technology Transfer agent (TTO) to join The Bloomsbury SET, a £5-million expertise exchange programme supported by Research England under the Connecting Capcapability Fund. The partners in this programme are The Royal Veterinary College, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, London School of Economics and Political Science, and SOAS University of London. The aim of the programme is to ?join the dots' between these partners, in order to accelerate the translation of research into new products, treatments, therapies and services to help combat infectious disease and antimicrobial resistance.
The appointee will support researchers from each College who are in receipt of translational research funding from The Bloomsbury SET. They will assist these researchers to seek protection for their intellectual property, and to attract interest in their technologies from potential funders or investors. The TTO will join a small team at RVC supporting delivery of The Bloomsbury SET programme. This will involve close working with the Director of Research & Innovation Services and Head of Research Development at RVC, The Bloomsbury SET Programme Manager, Steering Group members, other expertise Exchange professionals at each College, and external advisers.
This is an outward-facing function that requires someone with initiative, excellent communication expertise, a friendly, professional attitude, and capability to establish strong relationships with new and existing partners. It is expected that candidates will have practice of supporting technology transfer in a university or research institute environment, ideally in Life Sciences.
