We seek an outstanding candidate for a Bioinformatician position funded by a Cancer Research UK Programme awarded to Professor Stephen Taylor. The post will support on-going projects studying mitosis, MYC and novel drugs in the context of ovarian cancer (Topham et al (2015)Cancer Cell 28 129-40; Pillay et al (2019)Cancer Cell 35 519-533) and involves analysing high-throughput sequencing experiments (RNA-seq, DNA-seq) and single-cell experiments (10X and iCELL8 platforms). You will join a well funded and productive research group (seewww.bub1.com) located in the Oglesby Cancer Research Building, which provides state-of-the-art physical space, a stimulating intellectual environment, and access to first-rate core facilities.
You will have a PhD or equivalent in a significant discipline and must have a good working expertise of high-throughput sequencing data analysis methods. practice of programming in a language significant for Bioinformatics is essential (e.g. R, Python, C/C++ or Java) as are good communication expertise. Candidates with strong statistical and/or web portal development expertise are particularly encouraged to apply.
The position is available from 1 December 2019 for one year with a possibility to renew for a further 2.
