This is an exciting opportunity to join the Stoller Biomarker Discovery Centre - a new£17millionfacilitywhichuses developmentsinmass spectrometry, such asSWATH-MS andrelatedtechniques,which supportthemeasurementofmany proteinswithin a single sample(such as blood,urine,orfromtissue such as atumour biopsy)within amuch shortertimethan has ever been possible before.Such approacheswill be of huge benefitto clinicalresearchersasitwill allowthemtoseethe differences between samplesfrom,for example, healthy people and peoplewith a specific disease -thiswillgiveinsightsinto howthat disease develops and,importantly, howitmight betreated.In addition, by examiningthe differencesinthelevelsof particularmarker proteinsfrom patientswhorespondto a drug comparedtothosewho don'trespond, doctorswill be ableto identifywhich drug isthe besttreatmentforindividual patients.
