Essential Criteria
A good honours degree.
An earned doctoral level qualification.
capability to achieve Fellow Status as part of the Higher Education Academy's Professional Recognition scheme, within agreed timescales (as soon as is practicably possible and definitely within three years of commencement of employment).
Membership of a professional body.
An in-depth knowledge of, and national/international recognition in, specialist subject and professional area.
An in-depth knowledge of pedagogy/research/innovation and scholarly activity.
A thorough knowledge of institutional management systems and the wider higher education environment.
capability to supervise the design and development of the overall curricula.
capability to review programme design on a regular basis to ensure compliance with quality standards and academic regulations and to make alterations where appropriate.
Evaluate the effectiveness of learning and teaching methodologies, assessment methods, course delivery and effect improvement where appropriate.
capability to lead on a range of strategic developments e.g. consultancy, earnings generation, collaborative partnerships and networks at national and international level.
capability to take responsibility at either school/corporate level, for a number of key areas such as chairing and participating in school and institutional committees, institutional decision making and governance.
