Our new Student Intervention Team will facilitate the identification, investigation, and assessment of students where there is concern for their wellbeing or disruptive behaviour. The team will facilitate and monitor interventions for students who may be struggling emotionally or psychologically, or who may present a risk to health or wellbeing to themselves or those around them.

The Student Intervention agent posts will enable us to improve the student and staff practice through investigation, assessment and management of for appropriate and proportionate interventions. This team will also deliver training, consultancy and assistance to University staff, especially academic staff, promoting confidence and empowering others to raise issues and support students appropriately.

Engaging positively with subject matter experts, academic staff and external partners will be important, as will working collaboratively to support both our students and staff who are responding to presenting situations. Developing and maturing partnerships with external agencies and services will be particularly instrumental in securing referral pathways to support outside the capcapability of the services offered by the University.

The prosperous candidate will be exposed to a high volume of serious wellbeing and safeguarding concerns and will therefore require high resilience to this type of exposure and interaction.

There is a full-time post, fixed term for 22 months.

income:£27,511 - £31,866 per annum (Grade 5). Should a situation arise where there are appointable candidates that have a preference for part-time work, a job share will be considered.
