The Electronic Materials and Devices Research Group at the University of Southampton is an interdisciplinary team delivering novel solutions for advanced sensory systems, energy technologies and unconventional computing architectures. Our group encompasses diverse skills ranging from materials process development to electronic devices, circuits and systems. This expertise combined with our state-of-art facilities and strong collaborations with industry enables us to off­er unique solutions to real-world problems.
Our vision is to disrupt current ways of thinking, transforming our society through emerging nanotechnologies, such as: nano/bio-sensors, safe and efficient nano-batteries and novel Hardware for AI. To realise this vision, we need you to join our team to help us address these real-world problems.
You will have a skill level equivalent to the achievement of HND, degree or NVQ4 or professional qualification in Electronics, Physics, Engineering, or a closely related subject along with practice in one or more of the following areas:
   » Instrumentation
   » Micro/nano-fabrication
   » Metrology
   » Project management and staff development
   » Material Science
Ideally you will have practice of IC and embedded electronics design and testing, nanoelectronics devices, nanofabrication and sensors.
There will be some travel involved both within the United Kingdom and abroad to visit collaborators and attend conferences.
