Job Offer: Lead for Physiology, Acute and Intensive Care Medicine:Job description:Job location: Guildford PostType: Part Time,Part time 0.2 FTE/2 PAs An enthusiastic and creative team of medical educators are working within the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences to develop a new School of Medicine and We are seeking for a Lead for Physiology, Acute, and Intensive Care Medicine to join the team at this exciting time. The prosperous candidate will have a key function coordinating the development and delivery of teaching and assessment in physiology, acute, and intensive care medicine across all four years of the Graduate Entry Medicine (GEM) programme. Our programme aims to produce a new type of doctor - excellent and holistic clinical leaders who can drive change, delivering integrated, and technologically advanced healthcare for their patients and communities. The function The post holder will work within the Medical School leadership abilities Team to develop and maintain an innovative spiral curriculum covering physiology, acute, and intensive care medicine. You will ensure the delivery of high-quality teaching and assessment across these areas, making certain that our curriculum meets the requirements of results for Graduates and prepares our students for success in the Medical Licensing Assessment expertise Test and Clinical and Professional expertise Assessment. You'll be there for our students all over their Surrey journey, acting as a point of contact for feedback, working alongside and advising those experiencing academic difficulties, and helping us to achieve the highest levels of student satisfaction. About you To join us at this exciting time, you will be a forward-looking individual with a ?can do' attitude and the ambition to achieve personally. You'll have full GMC registration, alongside a higher professional qualification (usually a doctoral degree or equivalent), and will have a significant academic publication record. An excellent communicator, you'll have the capability to use tact, diplomacy, and empathy to build effective working relationships at all levels. You'll be comfortable leading, including making and conveying difficult decisions, but will also work well alongside a range of internal and external stakeholders. You will certainly have the opportunity to use your expertise and networks in concert with the complementary activities of our existing staff located across our wider Faculty who are tackling some of the major challenges facing society, including an ageing population, disease burden and food security. You may wish to take this function as a joint appointment in tandem with existing clinical tasks (in which case, your current NHS income may apply).
