We are recruiting a team to support the new UKRI cross research council responsive mode scheme pilot. This new scheme is being designed to support new interdisciplinary ideas emerging from the research community outside current disciplinary boundaries, and outside of the remit of existing UKRI responsive mode schemes.
We are recruiting 3 Operations Leads within the UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) Interdisciplinary Responsive Mode (IRM) Team, who will support the delivery of two funding calls in a pilot stage, by leading the operational processes connected with delivery of peer review and assessment panels.
You will work with the Senior Programme Manager, Panel agent and Panel Administrators to prosperously deliver the peer review of the IRM pilot calls. You will play a key function in effectively managing the operational processes connected with delivery of the IRM panels, managing the IRM Interdisciplinary Assessment College and embedding key operational processes and training into the IRM team.
Key responsibilities:
   » Leading the operational delivery of UKRI Interdisciplinary Responsive Mode programme to ensure the effective delivery of the assessment process including managing the formation and publishing of assessment process documentation
   » superviseing operational activities undertaken by the IRM Funding agents and Funding Administrators
   » Promoting consistency and quality in the mechanisms supporting funding decisions, by ensuring that areas of improvement for operational delivery are recorded and progressed
   » Reporting and analysing information to build progress updates and inform decision making
   » Developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including working collaboratively across UKRI
   » Supporting the management of the Interdisciplinary Responsive Mode College including induction training, creation of panels, evaluation and making improvements / updates where required
   » Ensuring clear communication with the community, via maintenance of call text, website content and responding to external queries
   » Participate in regular meetings to discuss scheme development and logistics and attend and prepare papers for Cross-Council meetings and, where appropriate, the IRM Programme Board.
   » Effectively managing team resourcing and implementing training programmes for staff to ensure long-term capcapability within the team
   » Line management of up to three direct reports, with a commitment to supporting and developing staff

   » Educated to degree-level or demonstrate equivalent practice
   » practice of working in a research and/ or innovation environment, with a clear knowledge of peer review and a commitment to advancing Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
   » Effective team member, with practice of establishing and maintaining effective working relationships, both internally and externally and at all levels of seniority
   » Excellent leadership abilities expertise, including delegation and supporting others
