About the function
The Department of Genetics and Genome Biology are investing in the next generation, and seeking to appoint two new Lecturers to join them on a permanent basis. The Lecturer functions available are in the areas of Neurogenetics and Genomics, each currently supported by strong research groups. The appointees will join a vibrant and prosperous research department and will be expected to conduct high quality research in related fields and to undertake teaching, tutoring and administrative tasks at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in the School of Biological Sciences and wider College of Life Sciences. The College of Life Sciences has several Doctoral training programs so you will have access to PhD studentships and opportunity for doctoral level training input.

About you
Alongside your degree and PhD in a significant discipline, you will have demonstrated skills in either neurogenetics, or more broadly in the area of genomics. Alongside this, you will have an excellent research track record as well as a high-quality publications in a significant research field.

You will either have practice of teaching Biological Sciences in a variety of areas (please see job summaries) at undergraduate level and an external recognition of teaching practice or a commitment to gain the appropriate category of HEA Fellowship.
