We are now looking for a Customer Service Librarian to join our team on a part time, permanent basis, working 22 hours per week. THE function Taking a customer focused approach you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of front-line lending and circulation services, to include ensuring a library environment which is conductive to learning, taking into account the needs of a diverse range of users, making the best use of individual, group and blended learning spaces to create an ethos of study. ABOUT YOU To be considered as a Customer Service Librarian, you will need: » A significant degree/NVQ4 or equivalent work-related practice. » practice of managing a team, including staff recruitment/selection, training staff, team development, dealing with performance and welfare issues. » capability to explore and assess customers' needs, identify trends and adapt the service accordingly to ensure a quality service. » Proactive and positive approach and commitment to service development located on continuous improvement. » capability to deal with problems using judgement, initiative and creativity, identifying and proposing practical solutions. » capability to prioritise and react to changes in workload, conflicting demands, scheduling and planning work to meet objectives and standards.
