Working closely with multiple partner organisations our graduates will get a broad overview of Social Work in Gloucestershire and beyond, supported with theory and simulation at our purpose-built Health and Social Care facilities located at Oxstalls campus.

Located in the heart of Gloucester, Oxstalls is just 15 minutes' walk from the city centre, Gloucester quaysand Kingsholm rugby stadium.
This exciting Coach in Practice post will provide the opportunity for the right person to work in an expanding Social Work and Social Care team at the University of Gloucestershire. If you are passionate and confident in your capability to transfer expertise to pre-registration students in both a practice and classroom setting, then this is the function for you. The prosperous applicant will work closely with the Social Work and Social Care team, university placement team, and our various local partners to ensure the curriculum reflects contemporary practice and policy, and ensure best practice is reflected in the student's education, with a focus on supporting Social Work apprenticeship students through their programme and completing connected individual learner reviews and direct observations.
this function offers the opportunity to use a coaching approach to supporting students and managers in practice and contribute to the development of new and existing placement areas. You will work closely with the Academic Subject Leaders, strategic placement lead, placement coordinators and our collaborative partners to deliver the vision for social work education in Gloucestershire. There is a requirement that the prosperous candidate will be a registered social worker with PEPs 2 qualification and hold a formal teaching qualification or be willing to work towards the University's Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice.
The School of Health+ will be relocating from its current premises on Oxstalls Campus to the City Campus, a new development for the University that will be a focal point of Gloucester City, and a modern centre for teaching learning and community partnerships.
