An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Student Learning Mentor to join the Outreach team to develop a personalised and supportive relationship with a group of year 9 students through to year 13 students from Norfolk-located schools from less advantaged backgrounds.
Key tasks of the function include:
   » Develop one-to-one mentoring relationships with students, meeting them on a regular basis to discuss progress according to termly objectives.
   » Set realistic targets and implement strategies that reflect student abilities, strengths and stretch goals with the objective of building expertise to raise student attainment.
You will have an consciousness of national 14-19 educational issues, practice of mentoring and working with young people, and be educated to Level 3 (or hold equivalent practice in a similar function).
This full-time post is available from 4 March 2024 on a fixed term basis to cover maternity leave until 20 December 2024.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Appointment will be subject to a criminal record check at Enhanced level from the Disclosure and Barring Service, including a check of the Child Barred List. It is an offence to apply for this function if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity significant to children.
