Do you have practice or are interested in working in events or a marketing communications function? Are you confident managing your own workload, working proactively and collaboratively as part of a team?
If the answer is yes, then this function of Events Coordinator could be ideal.
The Events Coordinator will assist the Events team in the organisation of a range of events, contributing to the delivery of a high quality Events programme that has a particular focus on supporting the external engagement part of the University Plan and aligns with wider University priorities.
The Events team is part of the wider Communications teams and are responsible for a portfolio of corporate events including but not limited to; public engagement lectures, alumni events, fundraising and stewardship events, building/campus openings, anniversary events, festival, and congregations in the UK and abroad.
As Events Coordinator your tasks will include to:
   » Provide support to the Events Manager with the prosperous planning, administration and delivery of a programme of high-quality corporate engagement events, including the logistics for each event
   » Act as a point of contact within the Events Team and assist with enquiries ensuring that they are dealt with as swiftly a possible, referring where necessary
   » Assist in the administration of university undergraduate and postgraduate congregations
   » Make necessary edits to the websites for congregations and corporate events, and publish information on social media, ensuring communications channels are up to date
   » Update the system with an accurate record of all corporate events activity whilst adhering to GDPR guidelines
The prosperous candidate will have/be:
   » GCSE English and Maths (grade C/4 or above) or equivalent
   » Excellent organisation and planning expertise, with an capability to meet strict deadlines
   » capability to use initiative and proactive approach to problem solving
   » Excellent written communication expertise (including proofreading expertise) with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
   » Excellent interpersonal expertise with the capability to interact with a wide variety of people at all levels and build effective working relationships
