The function
In collaboration with The University of Sheffield, Sheffield Hallam University will be hosting an EPSRC Digital Health Hub at the Advanced Wellbeing Research Centre (AWRC). We are pursuing a Research Fellow to help design and deliver an ambitious work package that puts patient, public and community involvement at the heart of digital health innovation.
You will manage and extend patient, public and community involvement in digital health research and innovation, with a particular focus on designing, delivering, and evaluating inclusive, significant, and innovative public involvement across the multi-partner South Yorkshire Digital Health Hub.
You will work under the guidance of the work package lead, in collaboration with the Hub Managers and Training Lead, liaising with Hub team members, community organisations, members of the public, and other stakeholders.
You will have practice of involving patients, service users, or members of the public in research projects, have excellent communication skills, able to work with a diverse range of organisations and individuals, and be passionate about public involvement in research and innovation.
The Team
The Digital Health Hub is an EPSRC funded 3-year programme delivered by the University of Sheffield and Sheffield Hallam University.
The vision is to improve population and individual health by developing novel technologies that gather everyday life data and fuse this with routine NHS health and social care data. These fused datasets will be analysed using mathematical models and AI to develop new methods and innovations that address clinical unmet needs of our NHS partners.
The Hub's objectives are:
   » To bring together and grow a Digital Health Community of Practice of healthcare providers, engineers, scientists, clinicians, patient/public groups, and industrial partners to develop Digital Health solutions that address unmet clinical needs and to form a Digital Health ?Community of Practice? that learns by doing, sharing expertise and skills via regular interaction.
   » To design, develop and disseminate sixty hours of openly available, accessible and accredited remote training resources in Digital Health expertise and skills.
   » To develop, train, and support a pipeline of Digital Health Innovators, equipping them with the expertise and skills to obtain further research and commercialisation funding towards NHS adoption.
   » To establish an underpinning infrastructure of computational, software engineering, device manufacturing, analytic and other technical skills that supports all Hub projects, training resources and events.
