About the function
The School of Hair, Beauty and Media Make-uplocated at the historic Printworks campus is seeking an enthusiastic Course leader for Beauty. The post is a Full time permanent post.
Beauty offers a number of courses for all ages and abilities, ranging from Level 1to Level 4.
We are seeking for an organised and practiced teacher/course leader to lead the Beauty provision. They should have industry practice and be able to demonstrate expertise in course management and meeting learner needs, monitoring attendance to ensure prosperous results.
What You Will Do
   » You will be responsible for retention, achievement, progress/value added, attendance and positive progression rates for an identified course or courses.
   » Maintain high quality and effective delivery across the course team.
   » Develop new modules, units and course.
   » Responsible for developing new units, modules and courses in line with government policy, awarding organisation developments and student demand as well as local community, economic and employer requirements.
   » Deliver and assess essential knowledge and knowledge to learners.
   » Plan, prepare and develop schemes of work, lesson plans, teaching and learning resources and assessment plans and ensure these are in place for all the course(s) teaching activity.
   » Market courses, engage with employers and provide high quality CEIAG (including full participation in open days, recruitment activities, including interviews and open evenings, enrolment and induction)
   » Complete a course level self assessment report and maintain the course quality improvement plan.
   » Carry out standardisation, internal verification/moderation and manage external verification in partnership with the quality team.
   » Participate, as appropriate, in the colleges examination process.
   » Line management of staff.
About You
   » You will hold a L5 Teaching Qualification (e.g. Cert Ed, PGCE) alongside avocational qualifications in the subject are
   » English and Maths at Level 2 or above and a availability to improve in one or both disciplines to level 3 or above
   » You will have significant up to date subject knowledge and recent delivery in the Further Education or school sector.
   » significant practice, knowledge and expertise to enable delivery of a range of levels across the curriculum, which demonstrates active learning and differentiated teaching styles.
