About This Position
Bury College are now welcoming applications for a Business Innovation Events and Activities Co-ordinator.
The Business Innovation Events and Activities Co-Ordinator will be responsible for supporting the work of the Business Innovation Manager (project lead for the FE Innovation Fund project), particularly in the engagement of local businesses and delivery of innovation activities, together with the co-ordination of the Innovation Centre at Bury College. The prosperous candidate will be a self-starter who can demonstrate a history of prosperous project delivery and building engagement between employers and education.
This is a new post to Bury College funded by the Greater Manchester FE Innovation Programme via Innovate UK. Bury College are working in collaboration with the pilot programme and other colleges within the GM region to explore how FE Colleges can support businesses to innovate by facilitating access to skills, skills, facilities and expertise.
This is a fixed term function until 31st March 2025 with plans to review and extend depending on the continued success of the programme.
Key tasks of this function will include:
   » Outreach and employer engagement work to develop and support consciousness raising activities of the FE Innovation Fund across the local business ecosystem, including the aims and objectives of the fund (adoption and diffusion of innovations)
   » Supporting delivery of innovation support available to local businesses, including the range of innovation support available, together with the benefits to local businesses of engaging with the project (for example through employer engagement forums / networking events)
   » Spending time with engaged businesses to support them on their innovation journey (collaborative work / expertise transfer / training and support)
   » Support provision of continuing professional support and signposting/referrals as necessary
   » supervise development of the FE Innovation Centre for Bury / Bury College together with connected co-ordination to ensure the Centre provides a professional business environment conducive to adoption and diffusion of innovation
   » Drive the Innovation Centre to become a focal point where innovation services can be delivered, where businesses can meet and access information about linked initiatives such as Innovation Accelerators, Centre for Digital Innovation, UK SPG, Made Smarter, KTPs, Business Growth Hub, Local Skills Improvement Fund, GM Institute of Technology etc.
   » Lead on completion of all project-related monitoring, evaluation, impact and evidence gathering requirements
   » Carry out other tasks from time to time within the general scope of the post as required by line manager
