The function
The post will lead on predictive modelling for a BBSRC grant at Bristol Veterinary School entitled ?AI to monitor changes in social behavior for the early detection of disease in dairy cattle'.
What will you be doing?
The postholder will be responsible for development of a machine learning predictive model for the creation of a fundamentally novel kind of early disease detection system located on early behaviour changes rather than later clinical manifestations of disease. The early disease detection system will link the changing behaviour detected by machine vision classifiers together with production and health characteristics of each animal in order to predict the early onset of ill health, including mastitis and lameness.
You should apply if
The function includes writing up the research for publication and dissemination to academic and industrial stakeholders. The researcher will be expected to work on their own initiative, planning and organising their own work activities and priorities as required.
