Job Offer: Research Fellow:Job description:Job location: London About us The mission of the Department of Clinical and Experimental Epilepsy is to transform the lives of people living with epilepsy for the better by identifying, knowledge, and correcting or preventing the underlying mechanisms leading to the epilepsies and connected comorbidities in each individual person. Our vision is to build upon the excellence and breadth of our research, seamlessly integrating basic and clinical science. About the function We have a great opportunity for a Research Fellow to join the Lignani Research Group, located in the department, and use in vivo Miniscope recordings in mouse models of neurological diseases. This project is central to an ERC (UKRI Frontier Research Guarantee)-funded programme of research aimed at knowledge brain pathology and therapies. The function is available from September 2024 and funded by the ERC for three years in the first instance. About you You will hold a PhD in Neuroscience or a related field. You should have hands-on practice with in vivo electrophysiology, stereotaxic surgery, and electrode implantation, as well as practice working with rodents, colony management, and surgery. In addition, you will have practice with computational modelling of brain networks, in vivo neuronal activity imaging (Miniscope), and neurological disease modelling. Excellent project management expertise, advanced IT proficiency, and outstanding oral and written communication expertise are also essential. this function meets the eligibility requirements for a skilled worker certificate of sponsorship or a global talent visa under UK Visas and Immigration legislation.
