The function The Network Manager position is pivotal in ensuring the smooth functioning of Newcastle University's computer network. Reporting to the Head of Infrastructure, the prosperous candidate will manage a team of network engineers, superviseing day-today operations of the network. We're at the beginning of a multimillion-pound investment to replace our wired and wireless network infrastructure across all sites. this function will be instrumental in support and transition into the operation of a new ?state of the art' network. You will ensure support requirements are met and people, processes and procedures are in place to ensure continued operation of the University network. The function will involve: » Managing all aspects of Newcastle University's networks services. » Leading and mentoring a team, ensuring priorities are agreed, resourced, and delivered. » Liaising with Third party suppliers. » Creating and managing a network roadmap. » Working closely with other NUIT departments such as Cyber Security, Platforms & Services and Datacentre Operations to ensure smooth delivery of services which depend on the network. » superviseing NUIT's network budget, allocating resources and reporting on expenditure. About you We seek an IT professional with a broad knowledge of IT services and technical environments. To succeed in this function, you should possess: » Strong people management expertise and practice of managing a team of network engineers. » Previous practice managing large campus networks across multiple sites. » An capability to manage several competing priorities and deliver on time and within budget. » Previous practice delivering a large network replacement.
