located in the beautiful modern premises of the award-winning Berrick Saul Building, the Humanities Research Centre (HRC) is the research wing of the University's Faculty of Arts and Humanities. The HRC has a three-fold mission: to broker, support and supervise research projects with reach and impact; to foster productive and creative partnerships with academic and non-academic collaborators; to inspire, train and professionalise the arts and humanities postgraduate body.

Responsibility for co-ordination and strategic oversight of the University's Impact agenda at the Faculty level. Working to the Faculty Associate Dean for Research (Arts & Humanities) on the implementation of the impact agenda within the Faculty, you will provide detailed, strategic advice and practical support to individual researchers, clusters of researchers and departments in helping to identify, generate, and capture research impact, and to help departments maximise their own impact potential and delivery, and support developments across Faculty boundaries, as appropriate. Working closely with the University Impact Manager, you will co-ordinate and align efforts across the Faculties and ensure that work is undertaken synergistically. The function holder will work cooperatively with the other Faculty and University Impact Managers and related staff in RI&KE. It is also expected that the post holder will form specialist networks both within the institution and with other Impact professionals across the sector.
expertise, practice & Qualification needed
   » Educated to degree level, preferably in a significant discipline (or equivalent professional practice)
   » Knowledge and knowledge of research in a higher education environment
   » consciousness of administrative research support within the Higher Education sector
   » knowledge of the different routes to impact for research
   » consciousness of the national research policy priorities in relation to Universities
   » Good interpersonal expertise, with the proven capability to develop good working relationships with all staff
   » Able to work independently and use initiative to manage competing demands and achieve deadlines
   » Good analytical expertise, demonstrating accuracy and attention to detail
   » Numerate (at least Mathematics qualification at GCSE or equivalent)
   » capability to communicate effectively with a variety of staff, including senior staff within and outside the University, face-to-face, over the telephone and in writing
   » capability to understand and explain complicated and/or technical concepts in a way that is easily understood by non-specialists both face-to-face and in other formats and to provide expert advice where appropriate
   » Able to produce work of a high standard to specific deadlines with minimal supervision
   » Excellent IT expertise
   » Working in a Higher Education environment
   » practice of research or KE support within the Higher Education sector
   » Proactive, confident and able to work with limited supervision, prioritise work accordingly and to strict deadlines
   » capability to work with a wide variety of staff, with tact and diplomacy
   » Strong commitment to working within a team and supporting others
