Executive adjunct:Job description:Job location: Edinburgh Open-Ended Contract: Permanent Full time: 35 hours per week The Bayes Centre are seeking an Executive adjunct to provide high level professional, confidential, administrative support to the Bayes Centre Senior Management (i.e., Director, Chief Operating agent and Deputy Chief Operating agents), ensuring their time is managed effectively so they can focus on the delivery of strategic objectives and priorities. The post-holder will be required to demonstrate a high degree of personal initiative, flexibility, organisational consciousness, judgement and discretion to work independently and efficiently. The prosperous candidate will be responsible for organising business, resolving issues independently, liaison with internal and external stakeholders, responding to enquiries, managing diaries, agendas and other information to support effective meetings and decision making. The opportunity: The Bayes Centre is the University of Edinburgh's innovation hub for Data Science and Artificial Intelligence and this broad remit encompasses activities that include education, research, business and investor relationships. This is a busy environment, perfect for those who enjoy a function where you'll be entrusted with multiple tasks and where every day will be different. The Bayes Centre is a multi-occupancy building with around 550 academic, research, industry and professional services staff, from across the institution and representing lease paying commercial partners. Your expertise and attributes for success: » HNC/HND or equivalent level qualifications in Administration or a PA Diploma, plus significant professional practice, OR broad practice in similar functions. » practice in supporting senior leaders, ideally working in a Personal/Executive adjunct or Business Manager function, with an capability to co-ordinate the collection of data from a variety of sources to be used by the Director, Chief Operating agent and Management Team colleagues. » capability to manage and prioritise own workload, with strong planning and organisational expertise, an excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy, confidentiality and integrity. » Strong written and verbal communication expertise with an capability to network and build strong working relationships, including practice of working/responding independently, using initiative and judgement dealing with unforeseen problems and circumstances. » practice with advanced use of Microsoft packages (such as Excel, Power Point and Word) and an up to date working expertise of AV and smart technology to ensure virtual connectivity.
