Job Offer: Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Secondary Science:Job description:Job location: Ormskirk About the function You will be located in the department of Secondary and Further Education which has recently been awarded ?Outstanding' by Ofsted for both the Secondary and Further Education. This is an exciting time to join the department and to work within a team who are keen to not ?rest on their laurels? but to remain at the forefront of ITE. Moreover, you will be encouraged to develop as a researcher and to contribute to the strong reputation the department has for research activity and results. You will be required to make a significant contribution to the delivery of our PGCE Secondary Science with QTS* course and lead on all aspects of this Initial Teacher Training (ITE) course. We would particularly welcome candidates who are able to deliver across the breadth of disciplines which trainees on the PGCE Secondary Science course train to teach in (biology, chemistry, and physics). You will be expected to contribute to the research profile of the department through the activities of one of our Research Units, and to meet the qualitative and quantitative requirements for submission to the next Research Excellence Framework. About You You will be an enthusiastic and friendly professional with excellent communication and interpersonal expertise coupled with a commitment to providing an excellent student practice. You will hold practice of teaching within Initial Teacher Education (ITE) and be able to support those training to teach across the three science disciplines. You will hold strong leadership abilities expertise and practice, specifically within the ITE and/or Higher Education and possess team-working expertise and significantly contribute to the development of our PGCE ITE programme and hold an aspiration which algin with the Faculty and department priorities.
