- THE function -

Ulster University is seeking to employ a Research Associate to play a key function in the AHRC funded project, Future Island-Island: Green Transition Ecosystem. This post offers an exciting opportunity for a researcher to work with a team of investigators on a national research project.

Green Transition Ecosystems (GTEs) are large scale projects that focus on translating the best design-led research into real-world benefits. Capitalising on clusters of design excellence, GTEs will address distinct challenges posed by the climate crisis, including but not limited to realising net zero goals. This GTE is led by Ulster University and includes Queens University, Glasgow School of Art and University of the Arts London as well as 12 company co-investigators and 18 external partners from industry, the public sector and the community.

The post-holder will be required to contact and work with a diverse range of stakeholders connected with the project and will play an important function in supporting the research team to draft, publish and disseminate the findings and recommendations of the research in both academic and non-academic outlets.

We may create a 12-month waiting list for same or similar functions within the Department / Faculty. The University reserves the right to extend the waiting list across the University if required for certain posts.

- ABOUT YOU -

The postholder will be required to have:

- An honours degree in Mechanical / Electronic engineering.
- A Masters qualification.
- practice of working with plastics materials and additive manufacture across a range of production processes.
