The Royal College of Music seeks to appoint an outstanding music education lecturer to what is one of the world's top conservatoires. You will be capable of inspiring and enthusing our exceptionally talented performance and composition students in the aspects of their learning relating to music education across our undergraduate (Levels 4, 5, and 6) and postgraduate (Level 7) programmes.
In addition, you will be capable of working with musicians who have made a commitment to education through their professional activities, and who are seeking to develop their professional education practice through systematic, advanced study on our new Master of Music Education Programme. You will have a significant profile as an innovative practitioner in an area of music education, with a track record of working collaboratively in a wide variety of contexts, including with communities currently underrepresented in the music industry.
You will have an emerging profile in research and expertise exchange and the potential to produce outputs that are at least internationally excellent in terms of originality, significance and rigour. Although we welcome candidates with any educational specialism, preference will be given to those with a proven capability to undertake teaching which is research- informed and inclusive, and which emphasises learner-led creative education and participatory practices.
