We are pursuing to appoint a talented Film and Television (Animation) teacher for September 2024. We want you to inspire students to understand and love your subject, achieve outstanding results and help our students become equipped to join the screen industries or progress to higher education when they leave us. this function will be teaching across our Level 3 Vocational course for Post 16 students and is offered as a genuine alternative to A level Film & Media.
About the function
Teacher of Film & TV (Animation)
We are seeking for a well-rounded, innovative and creative Film & Television (Animation) teacher with specialised practice in post-production to join an established department delivering an exciting holistic Film & Television Production course supported by major industry partners.
We are keen to hear from teachers with backgrounds in industry, as this course will have a strong industry focus with students working to create moving image work that is to industry standards.
function Responsibilities will include:
   » Cultivate LSA's Vision and embed its Values across every aspect of the school
   » Work closely with the adjunct Principal, Head of Department and other Film and TV Teachers to
develop and teach the curriculum including schemes of work and assessment materials
   » Take on additional responsibilities within the department related to a curriculum area
   » Collaborate with LSA's industry partners to provide learning practices and opportunities that
align with LSA's Vision and Values
   » Regularly collect and use data and other contextual information to evidence student progress
towards intended results and engage with target setting, differentiation, monitoring and
intervention
   » Take an honest and open approach to teaching practice and welcome opportunities for feedback
and development
   » Play an active pastoral function as an Academy Tutor ensuring that our students emotional and social
needs are met and that they feel part of our overall community
   » Engage with LSA Enrichment by providing opportunities for learning outside of the typical
curriculum
   » Safeguard the wellbeing of all students

Qualifications
   » Undergraduate degree (Desirable)
   » Qualified Teacher Status (Desirable)

   » Able to provide evidence of high performance of prosperous Animation teaching/trainingacross all capability ranges;
   » practice of using data and other contextual information to inform practice;
   » Track record of achieving outstanding results;
   » practice of working in a values driven environment (desirable).

   » Art and Design or Digital Media background;
   » Outstanding classroom practice with a proven record of ensuring the excellent progressionacross all abilities;
   » Passion for upcoming developments in digital technology;
   » availability to engage with high profile film industry partners and facilitate Master Classes;
   » practice with animation software (Adobe Suite, Procreate, Toonboom, Maya, Blender);
   » Proficiency in 2D animation practice, theory and concepts including storyboarding, design, drawing and concept art;
   » Excellent organisation and planning expertise;
   » Outstanding interaction expertise;
   » Skilled at implementing a culture of high expectations and achievement;
   » An knowledge of the importance of high quality feedback;
   » Confidence in differentiating for students with SEND;
   » Strong IT problem solving expertise;
