Postdoctoral Research agent in Hydroclimatology:Job description:Job location: Bangor Applications are invited for the function of Postdoctoral Research agent in Hydroclimatology. The post is within the School of Ocean Sciences, on a UKRI NERC-funded research project on ?Greenland ice marginal lake evolution as a driver of ice sheet change - how important are rising lake temperatures?'. tasks will include leading a modelling-focused work-package that will involve simulating the thermal response of ice-marginal lakes in Greenland under climate change. Candidates should be educated to PhD level (or be very near completion) in a significant subject e.g. Earth Sciences, Hydrology, Data Science, Limnology, Glaciology or related field and have practice working with large geospatial datasets from multiple sources and practice with programming languages such as Matlab/R/Python. The prosperous candidate will be expected to commence as soon as possible, and the post is available for a duration of 2 years. Applications will also be considered to carry out this function on a part-time or job share basis. this function will be located on campus in the School of Ocean Sciences in Menai Bridge. Through our Dynamic Working framework, there will also be the option to spend some time working remotely (although remaining in the UK) to support work life balance, which will be discussed further with candidates at interview.
