We are seeking to appoint a Research adjunct in Participatory Methods and Co-Design located within the Neuroscience, Ethics and Society (NEUROSEC) Team in the Department of Psychiatry. Led by Professor Ilina Singh, the NEUROSEC Team has an international reputation for its work in neuroscience ethics and psychiatric ethics and is uniquely situated within Oxford Psychiatry and Neuroscience, building collaborative research relationships with scientists, clinicians and public stakeholders, whilst maintaining a critical perspective and a portfolio of independent research projects. The post is located in the Department of Psychiatry and is full-time, although consideration will be given to candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 80% FTE) on a pro rata basis with appropriate adjustment of tasks.
The post is for a fixed term (funded for 18 months with the possibility of an extension).
You will be joining an active and creative group of researchers within the NEUROSEC team who lead on our patient and public involvement and participation activities. You will be required to manage your own research and administrative activities, within guidelines provided by senior colleagues. You will also be expected to contribute to wider project planning and organisation, including ideas for new research projects and to the design of research materials and making arrangements for data gathering.
You should hold an undergraduate degree or equivalent in a significant subject such as psychiatry, bioethics and geography and have expertise and/or practice in mental health/wellbeing science and/or participatory methodologies. practice of contributing to participatory programmes with at least one of our target ages groups: adolescents, young adults or older adults is essential along with demonstrable expertise in desk research methods (e.g., different kinds of review methodologies). You will have excellent communication expertise, including the capability to write text that can be published, present data at conferences, and represent the research group at meetings. practice of contributing to research publications and a availability to travel to research sites in the UK would be desirable.
