University Corporate Services, Research Ethics, Governance and Compliance
this function offers the opportunity for hybrid working - some time on campus and some in the house.
This new full - time post is available immediately on a permanent basis.
About you
Do you have an interest in supporting the ethical conduct of high quality research? Have you got practice of working to support research ethics or in similar envirionments relating to principles and quality standards? Or perhaps you have a keen interest in increasing your knowledge and skill within the areas of research integrity, ethics and governance?

What will you do in this function?
The function plays an important part in providing assurance that research conducted within the institution adheres to legal and ethical principles while promoting the well-being of participants and the wider community in conformity with the university's Research Ethics Framework, research policies and legislative and regulatory requirements.
Joining a committed team, you will develop and share your skills through exposure to a highly varied portfolio of research from all three university faculties. The team's mission is to provide comprehensive support, guidance, and resources to researchers, faculty, and staff, guiding them to navigate the complex landscape of human and animal research ethics with confidence and clarity.
this function involves working closely with the Senior Home Office Liaison Advisor (also located in the Research Ethics, Governance and Compliance Team) and supporting licensing requirements for regulated research involving animals in conformity with the university's commitment to the ?3Rs' (Replacement, Reduction and Refinement).
You will support researchers in setting up complex projects and in the conduct of continuing studies, ensuring that research governance processes take place according to protocols. Working closely with research ethics committee chairs and members, you will provide specialist advice and guidance on complex issues at different stages of the research life-cycle, building up a wide knowledge and knowledge of connected research processes to facilitate challenging and remarkable research.
We will assist you to continue to develop your knowledge and skill in all aspects of Research related governance, ethics and compliance.
