Stirling has enjoyed a growing and increasingly impactful research profile, and the University is now looking to appoint a Deputy Principal - Research and Innovation to continue this trajectory.
The Deputy Principal - Research and Innovation is a senior leadership abilities function responsible for leading and driving research excellence and fostering a culture of innovation and ambition. Reporting directly to the Principal and Vice Chancellor, and as a member of the executive team, the Deputy Principal will play a full part in shaping the overall strategic direction of the University and will be pivotal in advancing the University's research and innovation strategies, engagement, and reputation, against a backdrop of changing research and innovation policy and practice.
The prosperous postholder will possess broad leadership abilities practice in a senior academic function and bring a distinguished track record in research and scholarship. Demonstrable practice of implementing research strategies, most likely across multiple disciplines, will be highly advantageous, as will be an consciousness and knowledge of key factors and trends impacting higher education in the UK and internationally including those related to research funding, grant management, innovation, and enterprise activity. practice of identifying, fostering, and building strategic research collaborations and partnerships with industry and external stakeholders will be key, as will outstanding communication and influencing expertise.
