We welcome applications for this exciting new function which supports developments within several UK and EU-funded research projects, and will be a part of the Signals and Autonomy Research Group in the Centre for Autonomous and Cyber-Physical Systems.
About the function
The research group you would join is focused on AI-enhanced emerging satellite-located navigation technologies supporting wider adoption and improved safety of operation of autonomous systems, such as enhanced situational consciousness, robust and resilient position, navigation, and timing (PNT). The application of these technologies spans both present day applications and future demands of autonomous systems, for example, in Urban Air Mobility. Research work covers both funded research (from research councils and directly from clients) and academic provision (MSc and PhD).
About You
You will be educated to the doctoral level or equivalent in a significant subject. Your expertise and expertise will mean that you can contribute to research and some teaching activities such as: research in emerging technologies enabling robust and resilient PNT solutions for applications in autonomy, transport and other domains; teaching in machine learning, sensor technologies and PNT technologies for our MSc courses; engage with academic, business and defence stakeholders to develop and deliver research projects; and assist in activities in the group with other academics, researchers and students.
You will be expected to collaborate with the existing staff working in the same group and centre and have communications and meetings with our collaborators.
