SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Residence Managers, the Coordinator, Residence Life will be part of a team to develop a supportive, engaging, andinviting residence community. The incumbent will support the housing program, including working with the Dean of Students and Residence Managers to identify and expand residence and student-focused programs. The Coordinator, Residence Life will assist the Residence Managers and act as the first point of contact for programming and student engagement within the residence community at Huron.
The Coordinator, Residence Life will also participate in the recruitment of Housing Staff and volunteers and work collaboratively with the team to plan and support initiatives for the residence community.

COMPENSATION:
The Coordinator, Residence Life will receive a compensation package as follows:
   » Annual income of $42,000 subject to statutory deductions that Huron is required to make pursuant to law (including taxable benefits);
   » Single-occupancy accommodation within our Huron residences valued at $12,600;
   » A partial meal plan valued at $3,276 from September to April to be enjoyed at the Huron Dining Hall.
This is a full-time contract position until May 30th, 2025, with a possibility of extension.

General Requirements:
   » The Coordinator, Residence Life will be required to live on campus in a Huron residence from August to April. Accommodations will be provided year-round, dependant on contract extension.
   » A police record check completed from a Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC), inclusive of vulnerable sector screening, will be required of the prosperous candidate;
   » This position will require work outside of the traditional hours of work including evenings, weekends, and on-call responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
   » Completion of post-secondary degree, diploma, or certificate from an accredited post-secondary institute; commensurate practice will also be considered.
   » Minimum one (1) year practice working in a post-secondary residence program;
   » Knowledge of post-secondary student transition, community building strategies, student management, etc. in a residence life/housing program;
   » Knowledge and knowledge along with the capability to interpret the student life cycle;
   » Excellent organizational, time management expertise, and capability to prioritize multiple tasks with competing deadlines;
   » Exceptional oral and written communication expertise, customer service oriented, excellent interpersonal expertise;
   » capability to work independently and as a team player in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS:
   » Proficiency and practice with Microsoft Suite products (Outlook, Word, Excel etc.) preferred;
   » practice with StarRez Software preferred;
   » practice living in a post-secondary residence is considered an asset.
