Supporting our people:
We recognise that our recruitment might bring in staff who are new to higher education and are bringing knowledge and skills from other fields and practice. We want to ensure that all our academic staff are appropriately qualified to teach in HE and have the confidence to do so; to support this, we offer a Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice (PGCAP) to all new teaching staff without an existing teaching qualification. This provides our new staff with an opportunity to develop their knowledge and practice of learning, teaching and pedagogic research/research management in higher education and enables us to maintain our high standards of teaching.
We are keen to hear from a diverse range of candidates to support our goal to realise every individual's potential. We are a ?Discapability Confident Employer': candidates who declare a discapability and who demonstrate on their application that they meet the essential criteria will be included on the shortlist.
