Background
The School of Computer Science at the University of Birmingham is recruiting new academic staff to fulfil its ambitions as a leading UK university for computer science. We seek to recruit in the area of Cybersecurity, with a specific interest in applied cryptography in the context of hardware and embedded systems security (e.g. pre-silicon leakage and fault analysis, secure embedded software development, statistical side channel and fault evaluation techniques, machine and deep learning for side channels). We encourage applications from across the area of Cybersecurity.

function Summary
The function holder will be located in Edgbaston. The key tasks and responsibilities will include but not be limited to: giving lectures and seminars and supervising undergraduate / post-graduate students, course development and innovation, taking an active part in examinations, carrying out innovative research and writing papers on topics significant to the specialist subject area (this will include journals, books and other material), and obtaining research grant funding.
The prosperous applicant will have a PhD in a significant specialist subject area, as well as postdoctoral practice. We are seeking for candidates who will actively contribute to our portfolio and community, through pursuit of research that will bring new opportunities, synergies, and interdisciplinary collaboration. The prosperous candidate will also have a track record in teaching at a higher education institution.
Appointments will be made at either an adjunct Professor or Associate Professor level please specify which function you are applying for in the application.
