About the function
The prosperous candidate will play a key function in a new dual degree programme in Sustainable Built Environments, Energy and Resources: https://www.ucl.ac.uk/bartlett/environment-energy-resources/study/sustainab le-built-environment-energy-and-resources-bsc-and-meng

They will strengthen ISH's research capacity in data analysis and development of retrofit/renewables solutions to improve the sustaincapability of the built heritage. The holder of this post will convene and teach on two modules:
Sustainable Building Challenges: Heritage, Retrofit and Re-use and Decision-Making Data Analytics. Students will implement practical optimisation methods with Python and Matlab. In addition, the postholder will be expected to develop a research agenda related to heritage building retrofit and environmental performance analysis. This includes prosperous fundraising for research, producing research outputs at the level required for inclusion in the Research Excellence Framework , and supervising research students.

About you
We expect the postholder to have a PhD in an area significant to the environmental performance of heritage buildings, for example on retrofit, heritage science or building conservation, or broad practice commensurate with a PhD. The postholder should have publications in high-quality peer reviewed journals and a demonstrated track record of research on sustainable heritage. An capability to manage teaching activities and to engage prosperously with students is also essential.
