As part of the College's continuing investment in our staff team We are seeking to appoint to this position in our rapidly growing School of Construction. This area provides a broad curriculum covering a range of courses in a range of trades including brickwork, carpentry/furniture, electrical, plumbing and stonemasonry.
Your tasks
this function will report to the Head of School and by working collaboratively you will deliver inspirational leadership abilities to the curriculum area team. You will be responsible for providing an outstanding student practice through high quality teaching, learning and assessment. You will use your effective leadership abilities and management expertise to inspire your team to ensure students are able to achieve their potential.
You will quickly develop an knowledge of the vision for the area and be responsible for engaging and motivating the curriculum team to deliver on this. You will lead the FE course team(s) and provision and drive a high quality student practice through all stages of learning journey. In addition, you will be responsible for monitoring and supporting the drive in recruitment, retention and achievement of both apprentices and students. You will actively seek out opportunities to enhance employcapability expertise of students. You will proactively engage in quality assurance and improvement.
Person Specification
The prosperous candidate's knowledge, expertise, practice, abilities and qualities will include:
   » Minimum of grade C in GCSE Maths and English Language (or equivalent)
   » Degree in a significant subject area (or equivalent)
   » PGCE or CertEd (or availability to work towards)
   » practice of working within a similar function
   » practice of agriculture and/or an environment specialism.
   » practice of implementing strategies to enhance student success rates
   » prosperous record of implementing innovative curriculum developments
