The School of Physics & Astronomy is seeking an ambitious Postdoctoral Research Fellow to work with Dr Claudia Cyganowski and an international team on studies of accretion bursts in massive protostars using ALMA (Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array) observations. The prosperous applicant will work primarily on the processing, analysis, and publication of ALMA data.
The prosperous candidate will have (or be near to completion of) a PhD in astronomy, astrophysics, or a closely related field, with practice of processing/imaging ALMA data and skills in mm-wavelength studies of high-mass star-forming regions or mm-wavelength varicapability studies. The position is supported by an UKRI/STFC Small Award and is available for a starting date of 1 July 2024, or as soon as possible thereafter, for a period of three years. Later start dates are possible and can be discussed. The position includes funds for computing and travel.
The School of Physics & Astronomy offers a vibrant and modern work environment.
