Job Opportunity: Head of School IT and Digital Transformation:Job description:Job location: Cambridge, Hybrid The School of Technology is seeking a Director of IT and Digital Transformation to drive essential cultural change within the School's IT community and provide strategic leadership abilities. This pivotal function requires a person who can cultivate and maintain strong relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders within the School, University Information Services (UIS), University IT Portfolio Owners and external partners. As the Director of IT&DT, you will be tasked with defining vision and strategy for the School's IT services and ensuring their prosperous implementation. Collaborating closely with the leadership abilities teams of the School and its constituent departments', the Technology IT Committee and UIS Directorate, you will develop and execute strategies to enhance our IT infrastructure and services. You will become the main interface between the School and UIS, advocating for the School's evolving needs and ensure that delivered solutions align with our expectations. Furthermore, you will play a vital function in advancing the School's mission to foster a world-leading environment for multidisciplinary collaboration in teaching and research. This includes leveraging University-wide services, introducing School-level IT services where necessary, and supporting specialized IT functions within departments. Collaboration with departmental IT staff will be essential to support educational and administrative activities, as well as scientific research, with a keen knowledge of the need for flexible technical support. The University Information Services develops and provides infrastructure, systems and services across the University landscape. UIS will be a key partner for the School in supporting this post, delivering a comprehensive, robust and reliable platform of fundamental IT services, augmented by the skills of our local School IT staff. This collaborative approach to service delivery is essential for fostering a cohesive IT environment across the School. By leveraging both centralised and localised resources, we aim to enhance the quality, strength, and resilience of our IT infrastructure while retaining the invaluable insights and specialized support offered by our local IT teams.
