The Opportunity:
The University of Edinburgh Business School is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Climate Finance & Investment within the Accounting and Finance Subject Group. We are seeking for highly competent teachers and researchers with a strong publication trajectory. For this appointment we would particularly welcome applications from candidates within the broad areas of Climate Finance, Infrastructure Finance, Development Finance, or other significant areas of finance or economics.
The prosperous applicant will contribute to the objectives of the Business School by engaging in research and teaching of the highest quality, publishing in leading international journals, applying for research grants and leading/participating in the resulting projects, and engaging with non-academic stakeholders. There is an opportunity to contribute to the development of the interdisciplinary Centre for Business, Climate Change and Sustaincapability (B-CCaS). We are seeking for a highly competent and committed teacher, and the prosperous applicant will be expected to teach on the School's MSc in Climate Change Finance & Investment, and may be asked to contribute to Undergraduate, MSc, MBA, and executive education programmes.
From time to time, members of academic staff may be asked to take on managerial and administrative tasks, such as leadership abilities of teaching programmes.
The University recognises that it may be advantageous for the person appointed to be able to accept, within reasonable limits, consultancies or other paid employment outside their University appointment. Permission to undertake such activities will not be withheld without good cause, but it is a condition of appointment that such employment may only be undertaken with the express permission of the Head of School.
This post is a full-time, open-ended appointment.
Your expertise and attributes for success:
   » A PhD in climate finance, infrastructure finance, development finance or other significant area of finance or economics.
   » A developed area of research in climate finance and investment, with at least one high-quality publication.
   » practice in delivery of core finance teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level, with evidence of prosperous teaching.
   » The capability to engage confidently and competently with policy makers, practitioners and other non-academic stakeholders.
