Voltaire Foundation Research adjunct in Digital Iconography:Job description:Job location: Oxford Contract type: Fixed Term (1 year) from 1 October 2024 About the function The Voltaire Foundation is a busy and friendly research department within the Humanities Division, located at 99 Banbury Road, Oxford, specialising in the European 18th Century and digital text editing. We seek a Research adjunct who will work on updating an existing legacy database and transforming it into a sustainable and functional open access resource as part of the ?Voltaire Studio'. Working with specialist researchers and the Voltaire Foundation's digital consultant, the Research adjunct will develop/enhance the data model taking the existing data structure as a starting point, with a view to producing a sophisticated and user-friendly end product. In consultation with the managers, the Research adjunct will develop a work plan and implement it. The Research adjunct will also be involved in developing the iconography of Digital Voltaire, in terms of both content and permissions, and will make recommendations and produce a plan. The function is fixed-term for 12 months. The tasks and expertise required are described in further detail in the job description. Application process Applications must be made online.
