The above full-time QUEX funded post is available 1 July 2024 to 31 December 2025 in the Camborne School of Mines.
The post
The Faculty wishes to recruit a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to participate in the QUEX-funded Strategic Grant: ?Resourcing Decarbonisation: The circular economics of climate induced innovation in mining regions' (2023-2025).
The prosperous applicant will conduct research to develop circular economy business models for innovative mining and for repurposing mine wastes to address the emerging supply gap of energy transition minerals while contributing positively to local regions and communities. They will work closely with the University of Queensland PDRA in this project, who will focus on applying environmental economics to understand the nature of the energy transition minerals supply gap and its sensitivity to technical and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors. There will be opportunity for travel and workshops between the Universities of Queensland and Exeter.
About you
The prosperous applicant will be able to develop research objectives, projects and proposals; identify sources of research funding and contribute to the process of securing funds and make presentations at conferences and other events.
candidates will possess a significant PhD or equivalent qualification/practice in a related field of study. The prosperous applicant will be a nationally recognised authority in, mining finance, sustainable finance and circular economy business models and possess sufficient specialist expertise in the discipline to develop research programmes and methodologies. The prosperous applicant will also be able to work collaboratively, supervise the work of others and act as team leader as required, write academic manuscripts, give presentations, engage with stakeholders and lgain new techniques.
