Job summary
We are pursuing to appoint a highly motivated Discapability Advisor to contribute to a student-centred specialist advice and guidance service.
The prosperous candidate will be expected to provide confidential, impartial advice and support to students, enabling them to participate fully in all aspects of their course. They will:
   » assess students' needs
   » prepare bespoke Suggested Reasonable Adjustments Documents
   » carry out screenings for specific learning difficulties and autism
   » refer students on for assessment where appropriate
tasks and responsibilities
The function entails liaison with departments (academic and other) regarding the provision of appropriate reasonable adjustments and advising prospective students and their families on support and accessibility. The post holders will:
   » maintain accurate student records and review support provision
   » contribute to the development, review and implementation of the College's discapability policies and procedures.
   » be an active member of the DAS Team, providing support to the Senior Discapability Advisor, the Head of Service and other Team members.
Essential requirements
You must be educated to degree level, and with evidence of significant continuing professional development in the field of discapability, all candidates will have a proven track record of giving advice and facilitating support for disabled people.
You should also have a good knowledge of the needs of disabled people preferably within an educational setting.
You must possess excellent IT expertise, a proven capability to work both independently and as part of a team, and practice of maintaining accurate, confidential client case notes, as well as an knowledge of the Equality Act and Data Protection legislation.

The post is a full-time and permanent position and the post holder will be located in the South Kensington Campus, working partly in the house on a remote basis and partly on campus.

The College is currently trialling a Work Location Framework until early 2023.
