About the function
The School of Politics and International Relations is seeking an exceptional scholar for the function of Lecturer in Politics and Gender (Teaching and Research). We welcome applications from those researching the intersection of politics and gender in all its diversity across the disciplines of Politics and International Relations. We particularly welcome candidates with skills that complements the School's existing research strengths.

About You
You will have a PhD (or equivalent) in Politics, International Relations, or significant Social Sciences/Humanities area and a developing reputation for research at the intersection of politics/international relations, and gender. You will have some practice of developing and teaching modules in (international) politics and gender at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels. You will have significant practice of supervising and advising students. You will have an knowledge of the opportunities and challenges involved in teaching a diverse student cohort. practice of contributing to citizenship functions in a large, dynamic school is desirable.

The School of Politics and International Relations at Queen Mary University of London is one of the UK's leading Politics and International Relations departments. It was ranked 7th overall among UK higher education institutions in the 2022 REF. The School has grown rapidly over the past five years and is now home to 60+ academic staff. It has recently expanded to include Sociology as well as Politics and International Relations in its teaching and research.
