The Impact Development agent will co-ordinate the activities of the Photonics and Quantum Accelerator (PQA), which seeks to accelerate impact from the Photonics and Quantum research portfolios of the four consortium partners, to bring benefit to Scotland's central belt region.
FTE : 0.6 FTE (21 hours per week)
Term : Fixed (4 years)
This is an exciting opportunity to join the University of Strathclyde's central research office, Research & Knowledge Exchange Services, which provides a range of professional services to: optimise the University's research and knowledge exchange activities; support funding applications; manage contractual agreements; and develop engagement with businesses, organisations and strategic partners.
The Impact Development agent will co-ordinate the activities of the Photonics and Quantum Accelerator (PQA), which seeks to accelerate impact from the Photonics and Quantum research portfolios of the four consortium partners; University of Strathclyde, University of Glasgow, University of St Andrews and Heriot-Watt University, to bring benefit to Scotland's central belt region.
Working with civic, business, and other partners, the principal aims of the EPSRC funded PQA are:
   » To grow the Photonics and Quantum Technology economy and companies through entrepreneurship, company creation and engage existing companies in related fields (e.g. electronics, manufacturing), that have not yet exploited the benefits of Photonics and Quantum Technology.
   » To grow the base of people skilled in Photonics and Quantum Technology.
   » To increase the consciousness and knowledge of Photonics and Quantum Technology, and increase enthusiasm for entrepreneurial opportunities within schools.
The post holder will be located at the University of Strathclyde, and will work with the PIs and Co-Is at consortium organisations, the Technology Exploitation Director, the Project Manager, and the Head of Environment & Impact.
