The University of Sheffield is creating a new Safeguarding and Welfare Unit, launching spring 2024. this function will be responsible for the leadership abilities of this new team at this exciting time. Under the direction of the Head of Student practice and Support (SES), the post holder will take a lead function in the implementation of the University's new Safeguarding Policy and connected procedures and ensuring that the team consistently delivers a robust service in the management of all matters relating to safeguarding. This includes Prevent, management of the Report and Support system, oversight of Sexual Violence and Misconduct cases and procedures, leadership abilities of the Risk Assessment Panel procedure and responding to critical incidents. The Section Lead for Safeguarding and Welfare will lead a team of five new functions and work collaboratively with colleagues across the institution to ensure compliance with significant procedures and legislation. As part of the leadership abilities team within Student practice and Support, the post holder will play a key function in ensuring that the Service delivers an excellent service to students, to support them through their journey at University, whatever their circumstances.
